Lead Interior Designer

Charlotte, North Carolina | Full-Time Position

Position Overview:

Lawler Design Studio is seeking an exceptional Lead Interior Designer with extensive experience in luxury residential projects. As a Lead Designer, you will spearhead high-end residential projects from concept through completion while mentoring our design team. You should have expert-level proficiency in design software, comprehensive knowledge of luxury materials and construction processes, and proven leadership experience managing complex residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple high-end residential design projects end-to-end; own project vision, team coordination, and client relationships from initial concept through final installation

  • Direct the creation of comprehensive design packages including drawings, specifications, and presentations during all project phases

  • Oversee material selection, furniture sourcing, and custom design elements that define luxury residential environments

  • Lead client presentations, design meetings, and project coordination with contractors, vendors, and artisans

  • Maintain quality control throughout construction administration, conducting site visits and ensuring adherence to design intent

  • Foster relationships with premium vendors, craftspeople, and industry partners who align with our commitment to exceptional design

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years progressive leadership experience in high-end residential interior design with demonstrated portfolio of completed luxury projects

  • Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office with ability to produce sophisticated technical documentation

  • Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, material specifications, and installation procedures for luxury residential projects

  • Proven leadership and mentoring abilities with experience managing design teams and complex project timelines

  • Exceptional client communication skills and ability to present design concepts with confidence and expertise

  • Strong business acumen with understanding of project budgets, timelines, and construction administration processes

  • Travel required for project oversight and industry engagement
